   Preparing to leave prison can be difficult.  How will I find work? Where will I live? How can I keep from returning to prison?  We are here to help.  

 

   Living Beyond the Bars has offered free re-entry workshops at Mount Pleasant Correctional Facility and Iowa Medical Classification Center. Prior to the pandemic, we had plans to expand these workshops to other institutions.  We also help incarcerated individuals develop their reentry plan.  

 

   Our staff have created a state-wide list of community resources to help your journey.  There are organizations across Iowa that can help with mentors, basic needs, housing, substance use support, employment and more.  Reach out and find the support you need in your community.
